One of the overlooked, but incredibly usable, benefitsof SQL Server 2005’s Management Studio over Query Analyzer areprojects and solutions.
Not only is it great to be able to gather common scriptstogether into “projects” (e.g. “Server Maintenance“), andprojects into solutions (e.g. “Insurance AdministrationDatabase“), but even better is the tight integration of sourcecontrol into Management Studio – now you can actually have properlysource controlled script repositories, even including commonconnections, with automatic change management. This will be anadministrative and workflow panacea for a lot of teams, and willgreatly improve script re-use.
