After an incredibly hot, dry summer here in Southern Ontario –one which left many lawns scorched to the point of being bare dirt– the winter has followed suit, setting records as the warmestever measured.
Several nights it has pushed 9C at 9pm at night, which isextraordinary considering the average daily high, normally touchedfor only the briefest of moments in the early afternoon, is-4C.
This unseasonably warm weather has some of the plants andwildlife confused. Plants are sprouting in the garden. Squirrelsrush around in a “twitterpated” state.
